Car Seat Headrest --- Teens of Denial

Car Seat Headrest's first "proper" album Teens of Denial is exactly up my alley. Being a person who is into a a shit ton of indie , rock, and pop punk music, this album really resonates with me (it falls into the genre indie rock). The opening song on the album "Fill in the Blank" prepares you for what the rest of the album is going to be like. A guitar heavy album with a lot of "mhmmm"'s sung by the singer, Will. The album is mainly about an emotionally distraught young adult just going through life with all their troubles. My favorite song and their most popular song "Drunk Drivers/Killer Whales" starts of much more tenderly and speaks of self loathing that eventually blossoms into self love. Overall, I very much like this album and type of music.
I would recommend that you listen to their NPR Tiny Desk Concert,  too. Will plays by himself, but still surrounded by his bandmates and friends. He plays a a few song that are on separate albums and are some of my favorite pieces of work by them!

  1. Had a chance to catch some of their gig in Chicago last year and it was the first time listening to them! The haunting tone they add to some of their songs give me LIFE. Their Tiny Desk Concert is great too, but NPR does a great job with all of them, Highly recommend watching T-pains (lol).
